🔥This process has been replaced by a NEW simpler process here 🔥
-------IGNORE THESE OLD INSTRUCTIONS BELOW!-----
It's a very basic version at this stage - and naturally it won't work for every site , as every site handles logins differently... but so far we are impressed with our success rate. Our goal for this initial release, is to handle the most basic common scenarios first. In the near future we already have plans for solving all login-scenarios.
Let's Start!
Enter the starting base URL you wish to generate a sitemap for.
This could either be the main urlyoursite.com
or even a specific sectionsite.com/dashboard
*IMPORTANT : if you enter site.com/dashboard
it will crawl every link it finds on that page!
Therefore we recommend also using our Advanced Filters to exclude and/or include pages you only wish to see on the map.
2. Enter the login URL, username (if exists), and password.SECURITY TIP >> We suggest you use a temporary password which you can delete after your crawl. Either way, we delete ALL CREDENTIALS after each crawl ( see below for more info )
3. Occasionally, some log-in forms are 2-steps, and only show a username/email field first, then show a password field afterwards. In that case just click Form has two steps
option.
4 - ( Optionally ) Add CSS Selectors
We do our best to guess the login-form fields.. but in case we are not able to, it helps to specify which fields and buttons are required for logins. To get the CSS selectors, either use the browser's inspector or install this nifty plugin.

SECURITY FAQ - Yes we want you to sleep well at night!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We use Enterprise-grade Symmetric Encryption ( AES 256 bits
) to temporarily store the credentials that you provide.
This means that none of VisualSitemap's employees have access to these values, and these are only decrypted and used when crawling.
Also, when the crawl is complete, we delete the encrypted credentials immediately!
Seriously ...we don't want that liability.
